Deciding to invest in coaching for you or your organization is an important choice.
All our clients have one thing in common: they are ready to commit to taking action.
We could write 50 explanations and they would all be true and expand our definition of what coaching is. It really boils down to this:
- It is a collaborative partnership that facilitates human excellence.
- It supports people in discovering and maximizing their professional and personal potential.
I like the examples. It's an excellent idea. It gives a clear sense of what coaching can look like and how it impactful it can be.
Here's a few examples:
- Monday, 9am - The phone rings. On one end is a senior executive from a mid-size electronics company, the other, an executive Coach. Thirty minutes of brainstorming, goal setting, strategizing and planning ensue. When the session is complete, the executive has created a clear, concise action plan for the week that continues to close the gap between where he is and his desired objectives.
- Tuesday, 7am - A Vancouver based Coach rings in to a bridge phone line, where six area managers of a multi-national corporation, from three different countries, meet each week to brainstorm and strategize on better ways to integrate the planned global initiatives.
- Wednesday, 2pm Los Angeles, CA - A Director at a metropolitan hospital celebrates with her Coach about a successful feedback session with one of her managers. Not only did the manager receive it well she is excited about creating a plan to get "back on track". The Director discusses next steps with her Coach.
- Thursday, 4pm, New York, NY- A year to date from their first session together, a newly published author celebrates with her coach on the successful release of her book. The excited writer then wonders what she will need to put in place to achieve her next goal. The planning begins.
